A swift repose on skins sees this race well out of the rosé zone while braking before full red territory. It’s a novello style, as the label states, and a most agreeably mid take on the grape, skirting confection while delivering shimmeringly bright notes of wild raspberry, cherry and pomegranate, hedged with some briar patch herbs and a little white pepper. Chill or don’t – a discreetly effective line of tannin will accommodate either. 91 points. Published 17 September 2024
